    Patch on the adaptive controller: decode-cuts now remember the discovered ceiling (5 min TTL) and stop up-probing above it, instead of sawtoothing 60↔84 forever against software-decoding browsers. ceiling-hold in the adapt ack marks a capped park. Repeated cuts converge; the TTL re-probes once conditions may have changed (browser switch, thermal recovery).
